Sewer Scope Inspection

A sewer scope is a video inspection of the private sewer lateral running from the home to the municipal sewer connection or septic system. A camera is fed through the line to document its actual condition and identify potential problems that may otherwise remain hidden underground.

A standard home inspection cannot see inside a buried sewer line. Depending on the age and construction of the home, sewer laterals may be made of clay tile, cast iron, PVC or other materials that can deteriorate, crack, shift, or become damaged over time. Tree roots, ground movement, and settling can also contribute to sewer line problems.
